Salahudin Al-Ayubi

Papa Nasir has done with his Leadership's assignment. Saya jadi 'pembantu penyelidikan' dia hu hu.. tukang cari material. Learned a lot from this assignment. Even I dislike this feeling, still it reminded me of Palestine. Islam is indeed the way of life. Allah is always there for us... semoga ada sinar untuk Palestin bila Dia mengkehendaki dan mengizinkannya.

"He was the son of the Kurdish Chief Najmuddin Ayub, the ruler of Tikrit, Iraq. His personal name was Yusuf. He was called Salah-ad-Din for a desciptive epithet, meaning ‘Righteousness of the Faith”.

However, he was better known as Saladin in the Western. Salahudin Al-Ayubi was born in the castle of Tikrit, Iraq in 532 AH (1137-1138 CE) and completed his education in Damsyik.

He was a Kurdish Muslim, who became the first Sultan of Egypt and Syria and he was the one who founded the Ayyubin Dynasty. He was also a major Muslim political and military leader. He is best known for leading the Muslim armies during the Crusades and recapturing Jerusalem.

He led Muslim opposition to the Franks and other European Crusaders in the Levant. At the height of his power the Ayyubi Dynasty which he founded, his sultanate included Egypt, Syria, Mesopotamia, Iraq, Hejaz, Yemen, and parts of North Africa. He died just after dawn on 27 Safar 589 Ah (4 March 1193 CE) in Damascus, Syria at the age of 55. "
