Overheated

Ms sy kecil, abah pernah injured bila seluruh bhgn atas badan n mukanya melecur teruk krn disembur minyak/air panas kereta kodok kami yg overheated dulu. Sebulan juga abah dirawat di HBK dlm kelambu. Sy dh tk brp ingat cerita tu, tapi ia kembali buat sy takut bila Aveo overheated hari Sabtu lalu.

Kami rehatkan Avanza krn aircondnya msh blm dibaiki. Kami guna Aveo sj utk urusan hari Sabtu. Dr PJ kami ke The Mines. Then Papa Nasir htr sy ke Bandar Tasik Selatan utk bertemu seorg rakan lama. I need to see her utk mss KTVH saya.

Malangnya tak dpt berbual lama krn Papa mahu kami pulang sgr. Aveo overheat. Sy tahu kalau overheat itu maknanya terlebih panas. Tapi sy mmg tak ada ilmu dlm kes enjin kereta yg overheat. Yg sy tahu kami dlm kereta pun dh overheat sbb tak boleh on aircond. Aircond akan beri load pd enjin. Di pertengahan jalan, enjin dah keluarkan asap, and we need to stop immediately

"Selamat ke tak ni? Pa, promise me you'll be carefull!" 

Sy risau tengok enjin kereta yg berasap-asap dan menyembur2. Sy dah nak alihkan semua anak2, takut kereta meletup. Over-imagining things. Sbnrnya sy takut kalau kejadian yg pernah berlaku pd abah sy dl, berlaku lg. This is seriously my 1s time.

Spjg perjlnn plg, 3-4x kami berhenti di tepi jln utk sejukkan enjin. Sampai habis semua bekalan air dlm kereta. Kali ketiga kami terpaksa berhenti di tepi highway. Dh tak ada setitis air pun dlm kereta. Nasib baik tepi highway tu ada longkang yg jernih airnya, maka kami kumpul air tu utk siram ke enjin.

Kami berdoa agar traffic tak heavy. Papa kept monitoring temperature while driving at steady slow pace. Kasihan kami. Saya sgt risaukan anak2 je... abang Shah yg otw dari Sepang pun monitored kami dari Bukit Raja sampai rumah. Thank you!

 Aduhai, 1st time mengagau cari air, mujur dipermudahkan Tuhan.
 Kereta Peronda Lebuhraya sampai bila kami sudah managed to cool down the overheated engine. Anyway thank you for the concern rendered.

Hai... time budget kurus, time byk nak allocate.. time inilah juga dua-duanya nak sakit... Dugaan sungguh lah...

Tips kalau enjin overheat. Saya tahu baca je, praktikalnya tak mungkin saya boleh buat. Kalau jadi kat saya, mau saya duduk tepi jalan tu nangis sorang-sorang hu hu...

      Turn off the engine.

      Wait. If the engine is steaming, don't open the hood.

      Pull the hood release lever under the dashboard to open the hood when the car has cooled completely.

      Walk around the front of the car, reach under the hood, find the latch and squeeze it. As you squeeze the latch, pull up and open the hood.

      Check the coolant reservoir tank first. It's a plastic jug that has a small hose running to the radiator. The reservoir can be filled when the engine is hot (except on German and Swedish cars, the plastic reservoir is also under pressure, so don't open when the engine is hot).

      Open the radiator cap with a rag. Remember: open it only after the engine has completely cooled. If you're not sure, don't open the cap. If you open the cap while it's still warm, you may burn yourself with steam or hot coolant. Open the cap slowly, as if you were opening a bottle of soda that has been shaken up.

      Examine the radiator. Look inside and see if there's coolant left. If needed, fill to the top of the radiator.

      Put the radiator cap back on.

      Check to see that the upper or lower radiator hose, or any of the heater hoses, hasn't burst.

      Restart the engine.

      Watch the temperature gauge obsessively. Don't let the needle go into the red. Turn off the engine if the gauge approaches the red zone.

      Understand that you can continue driving a high-temperature vehicle if you're far from a phone or a service station and the car does not need coolant (or does not respond to these instructions). However, drive only as long as you stop and turn off the engine whenever the gauge gets close to the red, and let the engine cool down until you drive again. This may take a long time, but it probably beats walking
Kalau sdg travel, nak tunggu sejuk sendiri lamalah jadinya. Sbb itu boleh juga guna air untuk sejukkan enjin utk sementara waktu. Cuma, tak boleh siram air waktu enjin panas, nanti rod nya bengkok... I can't imagine how. Ya lo, I am definitely not a technical person....

  1. mmg x paham bab2 kete ni..tau bawak je.minyak pon biasanya khir yg isi siap2.

    cuma selalu khir pesan..kalau temprature dh smpai line berbahaya, kena stop engine.

    bab kereta ni mmg byk berabis kak..pening kepala

  2. My Aveo setakat nie masih belum overheat lagi. Tapi dah sampai waktu rasanya. Kena berhati2 dah nie. Tapi, 3 weeks ago Optra overheat di Muadzam, tengah2 hutan belantara pukul 10 malam. Memang bajet kurus. Tambah2 Optra tenat sangat sebab overheat tu. By right, thermostat jer yang pecah, tapi sebab hubby tak perasan temp dah naik, so gasket dah cair, air dah masuk enjin. Bila minyak hitam dah jadi kaler kopi susu, the whole intake manifold dengan total engine head jahanam. Total cost kalau nak repair dengan barang 2ndhand pun, dah reach 8k. My aveo last 3 years piston pecah. Total satu blok enjin jahanam. Total cost dengan enjin blok baru, over 5k.

    1. wah, dahsyat tu cecah 5 n 8k... pengsan... dapat deposit kancil dua tiga bijik.

      kitorang punye alhamdulillah cuma host pipe pecah, sib baik detected earlier, kalau tak mahu juga sangkut kat cylinder head tu..
